From 1st October 2026 onwards, AIDA is transformed to an Advanced International AI Education Center. The name ‘International AI Doctoral Academy’ and its acronym ‘AIDA’ will be retained. It will continue offering a wealth of quality AI educational activities, e.g., short course, summer schools, lectures, think-tank activities.  They will be similar to the previous ones, e.g., primarily run and/or facilitate advanced AI education courses, schools and events all over the world. The previous AIDA activity structure will be followed as close as possible.

The current AIDA representatives (and new AI scientists to be invited) will form an AIDA AI Expert Board (AIDA EB) having advisory role. The current AIDA Management Board (AIDA MB) will continue functioning on an advisory basis, chaired by Dr. Ioannis Pitas for the period 2026-2030.

Prominent AI scientists from various Universities, R&D centers and companies will participate in the new AIDA at a personal capacity. New qualified AI scientists (e.g., holding a PhD and/or having AI activities) can join AIDA EB, after decision of the AIDA MB. To this end, please send a very short CV (1/2 page max and Google scholar link) to the AIDA chair Dr. Ioannis Pitas pitas@csd.auth.gr and cc to the AIDA secretariat secretariat@i-aida.org.

AIDA EB membership is free of charge. The AIDA EB members and other qualified international AI scientists are welcomed to participate and/or stay current in AIDA educational and other activities.

New AIDA will retain current AIDA name and acronym, AIDA www site and its content (in an updated form, still under construction).

AIDA income will come from a) internal AUTH financing and b) any other income from AIDA activities or c) sponsorships of any form.

New AIDA will be managed by AUTH (current AIDA coordinator), as an AUTH project following the related rules and procedures. Dr. I. Pitas, current AIDA chair will be the scientific responsible for this project.
